VOTING RECORD ON MAJOR ISSUES
I realize that it would be unreasonable to expect everyone to agree with me all of the time.  What I can assure you is that I have never, and will never, make a decision without having done my homework, given respectful consideration to all public input, and devoted careful thought to the matter. 
I have applied a consistent approach to major decisions this past term.  My deepening concerns about fiscal accountability are being increasingly echoed by others, including financial consultants and City staff.  We are poised to be $78 million dollars in debt by 2008, and taxes are anticipated – if we continue on this road – to rise dramatically.  Meanwhile, we will continue to underfund our basic infrastructure needs, to our detriment.
For several years, over two Council terms, I have been emphasizing that it is crucial for us to take care of our core infrastructure before embarking on new endeavours.  My voting record on the three hottest issues Council faced during the 2003-2006 term has been consistent with this concern.
