From 2002 to 2008, Janice was an active and vocal appointee to the Region’s Transportation Strategy Steering Committee. She was involved in development of the Region’s Inter-Municipal Specialized Transit System and in initiating steps to bring Go Transit to the Niagara Region.

Unlike her immediate Council predecessors, Janice has served actively as Council’s representative on the Niagara District Airport Commission. During her six years on the Commission, she has used her political acumen to help the Commission become a more professional and effective body. The Commission is moving toward its new goal of financial self-sufficiency and recently secured $12 million in Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Stimulus Funding (ISF) for the renewal and improvements which will help it, the Region’s main airport, achieve this goal.

Janice served as the Chair of the Ad Hoc City of Niagara Falls Taxi Stand Advisory Committee. The Committee developed criteria for the placement of taxi stands to prevent conflicts and provide seamless service to our visitors.

Janice has also been a tireless and very vocal advocate of the need for City Council to invest sufficient funds to maintain our deteriorating road infrastructure.
